Privacy policy

PartyGame24 is made to be played without handing over anything about yourself. This page explains what little we do handle, and why.

No accounts, no personal information

There are no accounts or sign-ups. We never ask for your real name, email address, phone number, age or location. You play under a nickname of your choice; please don't use your real name.

What happens to your games

  • Rooms, nicknames, chat messages and moves are kept only in the server's memory while the room exists, and are never written to a database. A room is deleted when everyone leaves, or after 10 minutes with nobody in it.
  • Leaderboards keep a nickname and points against a random browser id, in memory only. They reset whenever the server restarts.
  • Voice chat is only available in private rooms, and is off until you turn it on. Audio goes directly between players' browsers (peer to peer) and is never sent to or recorded by our servers. To connect, your browser contacts a public STUN server, which sees your IP address.

Cookies

We use a single first-party session cookie that's strictly necessary for the game to work: it keeps your seat in a room and a random browser id for the leaderboard. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics and error reports

  • Umami counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you; we only see totals.
  • PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (error reports) are hosted in the EU. They receive a random, pseudonymous id that isn't linked to who you are, along with which game you played and what went wrong.

Keeping games safe

  • To stop abuse, we briefly use your IP address to limit how often rooms can be created, joined or have their password tried. It's kept in memory for a few minutes at most and is not logged.
  • If you report a player, we keep the report (the room, both players' in-game ids, the reported nickname and the reason) so it can be reviewed.
  • Names, chat and clues are checked against a list of offensive words.

Questions or requests

Because we don't hold information that identifies you, there is usually nothing to look up or delete. For any privacy question, contact us at [privacy contact — to be confirmed].
